Grupa Azoty has contract for design of explosives production plant
Prozap – a subsidiary of Grupa Azoty – has signed an agreement with Nitro-Chem to prepare design documentation for a new installation dedicated to producing high-energy explosives, including RDX and optionally HMX. The documentation will form the basis for an investment at the Nitro-Chem plant. The project follows this year’s letter of intent under which both companies strengthen joint capabilities in designing and building explosive production facilities. The planned installation will increase production capacity and process flexibility, enabling simultaneous production of RDX, HMX and necessary intermediates.
Grupa Azoty and Nitro-Chem emphasise that the project supports growing defence-sector demand, bolsters domestic supply-chain independence and reinforces Nitro-Chem’s position as a trusted supplier.
