Grupa Azoty reports alleged misuse
Grupa Azoty has notified the District Prosecutor's Office in Tarnów of a suspected crime involving abuse of authority and negligence in sponsorship and advertising agreements. The company alleges that between 2021-2023, over PLN 7.5 million was misused for promotional services benefiting political entities rather than Grupa Azoty. These contracts were signed despite a suspension of non-critical expenses due to the company’s financial struggles. Grupa Azoty's president, Adam Leszkiewicz, emphasized the company's commitment to addressing irregularities as part of its cost-optimization efforts. Audits are underway, with further legal actions anticipated. Grupa Azoty, a major player in Europe's chemical and fertilizer industry, continues to face financial challenges.
