In May 2024, Poland's construction and assembly production declined by 6.5% y/y but increased by 7.0% m/m, as reported by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Analysts had expected a y/y decrease of 3.8% and a higher m/m increase of 8.7%. Specifically, building construction decreased by 5.4% y/y and increased by 3.4% m/m, while civil engineering saw a 6.6% y/y decrease and a 9.2% m/m increase.

Specialized construction works declined by 7.7% y/y but rose by 8.4% m/m. These figures highlight the sector's month-to-month volatility amid broader economic conditions and expectations.
