GUS: number of housing construction start in May +37.2% y/y
The number of apartments whose construction started in May 2024 increased by 37.2% y/y but decreased by 5.2% month-on-month (m/m), according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Additionally, GUS estimates that as of the end of May 2024, there were 823,400 apartments under construction, which is 1.8% more than in the same month of 2023.
