GUS: number of vacancies at 97,100 at end Q4 2023, ICT with biggest drop

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2023, the number of job vacancies amounted to 97.1 thousand, a decrease of 12.7 percent compared to the previous quarter, according to data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, job vacancies decreased by 9.1 percent. The sector experiencing the largest decrease in job vacancies year-on-year was the information and communication sector. The job vacancy rate decreased by 0.14 percentage points compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, reaching 0.78 percent.

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2023, 5.0 percent of the 610.9 thousand entities in the national economy had job vacancies, representing a decrease compared to the previous quarter and the same quarter of the previous year.
