Head of European Commission: We should have listened to central Europe about Russia
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated in a press conference in Brussels that the EU should have listened more closely to Central European countries regarding Russia and taken decisive actions earlier. She noted that these countries have more experience with Russia as a neighbor and suggested that the EU should have acted according to their recommendations earlier. Von der Leyen expressed gratitude for the EU's strength and its ability to respond strongly to Russia.
She highlighted the 20th anniversary of EU enlargement as a day of celebration, emphasizing the positive impact it has had on the EU's strength, economy, and global voice.
