Henkel creating chemistry lab in Stąporków
Henkel's "International Center for Innovative Construction Technologies" in Stąporków, a town of about 5,000 people, is the German group's most important construction chemistry R&D site in Europe. Its 16 scientists make up over 10% of Henkel's researchers in this field and develop adhesives, sealants and coatings for the whole company, as well as serving as the main research hub for markets such as Romania, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan.
Opened in 2014 in a former training hotel next to Henkel's first Polish plant (1991), it works on insulation, waterproofing, tile adhesives and facade paints. Labs use droplet analyzers and aging chambers, and cooperate with universities including AGH and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
