Higher electricity costs in 2025?
Potential electricity price increases loom for 2025 as the current support mechanisms, which have raised prices slightly since July, are set to expire at the end of this year. The Energy Regulatory Office estimates a monthly increase of PLN 27.5 for households consuming up to 2 MWh annually.
A decision on extending support is expected by year-end. Without continued support, prices could rise by 25% in 2025. This would mean an extra PLN 40 per month, or PLN 480 annually, for an average household consuming 2,000 kWh per year. The Ministry of Climate and Environment is closely monitoring the situation and will adjust policies if necessary.
