Imports of used cars increased by 29.2% y/y to 87,200 in July
In July 2024, Poland saw 87,175 registrations of imported used cars and light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5 tons), a 29.2% increase y/y, marking the 13th consecutive month of growth and the highest figure in 40 months, according to IBRM Samar. The forecast for 2024 is about 940,000-960,000 units. Of these, 518,148 were passenger cars, up 25.1% from last year, and 50,309 were commercial vehicles, up 29.7%. The average age of imported vehicles stabilized at 12.26 years, driven mainly by petrol cars averaging 12.92 years.
Volkswagen remains the most popular passenger car brand, while Renault leads in commercial vehicles. Opel Astra, Volkswagen Golf, and Audi A4 are the top car models, with Opel Astra gaining a lead. The Renault Master remains the most popular commercial vehicle model. The top 20 countries for car imports to Poland were also listed.
