Industrial Development Agency will take over Hawe Telecom and fiber optics

The Industrial Development Agency (ARP), the main creditor of Hawe Telekom (HT), will take over nearly 100% of the fiber-optic operator’s shares, while other creditors will receive over PLN 51 million under a restructuring plan approved by a Warsaw bankruptcy court. ARP’s PLN 80 million debt will be converted into shares, with payments to remaining creditors spread over three years. The court emphasized that this is the only viable solution preventing HT’s bankruptcy.
ARP assumes significant economic and technological risks but aims to stabilize the company and make it a pillar of Poland’s communication security. The decision ends nearly a decade-long restructuring of HT, which operates a 4,000 km fiber-optic network and serves major telecom clients.
