Industrial production in January 2021 increased by 0.9 percent y/y, and compared to the previous month fell by 5.1 percent – the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported.
Seasonally adjusted industrial production in January increased by 5.7 percent y/y and by 1.7 percent m/m.
Annual increases were recorded in 15 out of 34 sections, incl. the production of electrical equipment – by 31.3 percent, in waste management; recovery of raw materials – by 12.5 percent, in the production of computers, electronic and optical products – by 8.6 percent, rubber and plastic products – by 5.9 percent, in the extraction of hard coal and lignite – by 4.9 percent, in the production of metals – by 4.6 percent, chemicals, and chemical products – by 4.3 percent.
A drop in sold production occurred in 19 divisions, incl. the production of coke and refined petroleum products – by 20.4 percent, beverages – by 11.3 percent, pharmaceutical products – by 6.1 percent, other transport equipment – by 5.7 percent, motor vehicles, trailers, and trailers – by 3.5 percent.
In January 2021, industrial production prices increased by 0.7 percent on an annual and monthly basis.
