On August 30, 2024, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported that consumer inflation in Poland reached 4.3 percent in August. This marks a slight increase from the previous month. The inflation rate aligns with market expectations, as economists had predicted this level.
According to GUS, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 4.1 percent compared to the same month last year. Energy prices also saw a significant increase of 10.3 percent y/y. In contrast, fuel prices decreased by 1.7 percent over the same period.
