Innovation in motion
Logistics has become a key indicator of business resilience. In recent years, companies have had to respond to volatile demand, shorter delivery windows, cost pressures and the need for greater transparency across supply chains. Against this backdrop, innovation is no longer measured only by the scale of automation or the novelty of technology. It is measured by how effectively it helps businesses operate faster, smarter, and closer to their customers.
This change is particularly visible in contract logistics. Customers no longer expect warehousing and transport alone. They want partners capable of combining storage, distribution, co-packing, value-added services, and digital visibility within one flexible operating model. The question is not whether logistics should innovate, but how innovation can support growth, efficiency, and competitiveness.
Two examples from Raben Group show how this approach is taking shape in Poland: the digitization of co-packing operations with Nulogy and the development of a modern logistics facility in Wiskitki. Although different in scope, both show that logistics innovation must be practical, scalable, and linked directly to customer needs.
In value-added services, Raben Group is implementing Nulogy Shop Floor to digitize contract packing operations across seven sites in Poland, beginning with the first deployment at Raben Logistics Polska in Stryków. A second phase is planned for additional European locations. The platform gives managers real-time visibility into production, resources, line performance and order status, making complex co-packing processes more transparent and easier to manage.
The value goes beyond operational control. By replacing fragmented planning and execution tools with one integrated platform, Raben is standardizing processes, improving data consistency, and supporting faster decision-making. Customers gain better visibility into production and inventory, faster responses to changing requirements and stronger support during promotions, seasonal peaks, and product launches.
Digital tools are not replacing operational expertise; they are strengthening it. Co-packing projects often involve short production runs, changing volumes, quality requirements, and close customer cooperation. A connected platform brings these elements together, reduces manual work, and creates a foundation for scaling value-added services across multiple locations.
The Wiskitki facility illustrates how modern warehouse infrastructure can support growth, rather than merely add storage capacity. With approximately 117,000 square meters of warehouse space and a clear height of 15 meters, compared with a market standard of around 10–12 meters, the site is designed to make better use of vertical space while retaining operational flexibility.
Part of the facility uses narrow-aisle technology and semi-automated handling enabling more efficient use of space and the precise movement of goods. People remain central to the process. The result is a balanced model in which technology improves productivity while operational teams retain control over key handling activities.
Wiskitki is also more than a high-bay warehouse. It also includes areas for picking, mixed-pallet operations, value-added services, and distribution. This hybrid model reflects a broader market trend: logistics facilities need to be adaptable, because customers increasingly require solutions tailored to various products, channels, and business cycles.
Value-added services are also part of this business model. In Wiskitki, 4,500 square meters are dedicated to co-packing and VAS operations, arranged across two levels and including a temperature-controlled chamber. Goods can be stored, prepared, packed, assembled into promotional sets and distributed from one location. As Jacek Luc explains, “A customer comes to us with a concept, and we design the packaging, provide the materials, pack the products and prepare ready-made sets.”
This integrated approach reduces unnecessary transport, additional transfers and handling steps, supporting both efficiency and environmental goals. As Jacek Luc, Regional Director at Raben Logistics Polska, emphasizes, “The warehouse in Wiskitki is the result of many years of consistent cooperation and shared development. It is a modern facility that gives us real opportunities to further scale operations and implement innovative, efficient logistics solutions.”
Both projects show that innovation in logistics is not about isolated technologies. Digital systems require reliable data and disciplined processes. Modern warehouses require the right operating concept, trained teams, and a clear understanding of customer flows. The strongest results come when technology, infrastructure and people are designed to work together.
For the Polish logistics market, this has broader significance. As companies continue to review supply chain resilience, cost efficiency and service quality, logistics providers are becoming strategic partners in business transformation. The ability to combine scale with flexibility, technology with practical knowledge and efficiency with reliability is becoming an important competitive advantage.
Innovation in motion is therefore not a single breakthrough, but a continuous process of improving how logistics responds to real market needs. In co-packing, it means better visibility and faster decisions. In warehouse infrastructure, it means smarter use of space and greater flexibility. For customers, it means a supply chain that is more transparent, responsive, and ready to support growth.
