InPost bets on AI shopping assistant to drive parcel deliveries
InPost’s Von Halsky AI shopping assistant has drawn several million user interactions since its March launch, and 90% of chats showed purchase intent as of Sept. 18. The company does not charge merchants a commission, giving them room to offer lower prices. Instead, InPost expects to earn from parcel deliveries, since shoppers cannot choose a competing carrier through the assistant. Users mainly search for everyday goods, while research shows they value finding the best price, coupons and product comparisons. InPost says longer conversations tend to convert best, though each interaction adds AI costs.
The tool remains an investment, with advertising revenue a possible future source of income. InPost is developing reminders for repeat purchases but has not introduced AI agent payments.
