InPost expanding on Iberian Peninsula
InPost has expanded its combined network in Spain and Portugal from about 3,500 locations in 2021 to more than 14,200, including nearly 6,000 parcel lockers and 8,200 partner pickup points. The company aims to become the leading parcel-delivery operator in both countries, where home delivery remains the preferred option. Lockers make up 78% of InPost’s new Iberian locations and 81% in Portugal. In Portugal, InPost holds 9.4% of the parcel market, ranking third. The company says 22% of online shoppers abandon carts when locker delivery is unavailable.
Expansion partners include Repsol, with more than 500 lockers at its Spanish fuel stations, and Wallapop, which offers click-and-collect in Madrid and Barcelona. In Portugal, 43% of consumers recognize the InPost brand.
