Inspections begin on violations of regulations regarding sewage and septic tanks

In 2025, unannounced inspections of residential properties are being conducted across Poland to ensure compliance with sewage management laws. Authorities are targeting households not connected to municipal sewage systems and using septic tanks or home treatment systems. Inspectors will check for valid contracts with waste removal companies and proof of regular service (invoices or receipts). Missing documents may result in fines up to PLN 5,000, enforced upgrades, or repeated inspections.
The aim is to prevent illegal sewage disposal, which poses environmental and health risks. Homeowners should verify their systems meet regulations, sign necessary contracts, and gather documentation to avoid penalties. The inspections are part of a nationwide initiative to enforce stricter environmental standards.
