The share of the shadow economy in Poland's GDP will fall to 17.2 percent in 2019, from 18 percent a year earlier, according to the Institute of Economic Forecasts and Analyses (IPAG). According to the IPAG methodology, the gray economy in Poland is bigger than according to the GUS (Central Statistical Office ) methodology.
“In the IPAG's opinion, the total value of the shadow economy in Poland will amount to PLN 424 billion in 2019. It has an increasing tendency in absolute terms,“ IPAG said. The IPAG calculations indicate that in the years 2015-2018 the share of the shadow economy in the Polish economy amounted to an average of 18.7 percent.
