Jacek Jastrzębski reappointed head of the Financial Supervision Authority

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki appointed Jacek Jastrzębski to another five-year term as Chairman of the Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). In addition to banks, insurers, brokerage houses, investment funds, and pension funds, the head of supervision also represents stock exchange-listed companies, their managers, and investors. From the beginning of 2024, the Financial Supervision Authority will also take over the supervision of lending companies.
According to the law on financial market supervision, the chairman of the KNF has a great deal of independence. Its guarantor is primarily a five-year term, which can only be terminated before the deadline in strictly defined cases.
