KGHM has PLN 209 mln loan from BGK for PV installation for 94 MW capacity
Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) has granted KGHM Polska Miedź a PLN 209 million loan to finance the construction of four photovoltaic installations with a combined capacity of 94 MW. The project, supported by the Energy Support Fund under Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO), will supply renewable electricity exclusively for KGHM’s own industrial operations.
The investment will increase the share of energy from renewables, reduce the carbon footprint of final products, and support KGHM’s long-term decarbonization strategy. According to both companies, expanding in-house zero- and low-emission generation will strengthen energy security, stabilize costs, and reduce exposure to market price volatility. The installations will be built in Lower Silesia, supporting both the company and the regional power system.
