KNF CSIRT report: false investments flood financial market
Poland’s financial sector is the most digitized in the EU, but this also increases exposure to cyber threats, according to a CSIRT KNF report. In 2025, fake investment scams dominated, accounting for over 96% of 41,751 fraudulent domains reported for blocking.
Cybercriminals used social media, phishing, and increasingly sophisticated deepfakes featuring public figures to deceive users with promises of quick profits. Fraud campaigns often operated within social media platforms, making detection harder.
Authorities recorded a sharp rise in cyber incidents, with 273,000 cases reported in Poland, up 150% y/y. The sector also faced frequent DDoS attacks and supply chain threats.
Experts warn that growing digitization expands the attack surface, requiring stronger cybersecurity and public awareness.
