Kosiniak-Kamysz: Poland is counting on PLN 120-130 bln from EU loan program

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz expressed hope that Poland could receive PLN 120–130 billion from the EU’s proposed SAFE defense loan program, worth €150 billion. Speaking in Brussels, where he chaired a meeting of EU defense ministers, he highlighted the importance of these funds in supporting Poland's defense industry.
He noted that vehicles like the Baobab mine-laying system could become a signature product of Polish manufacturing. Other key beneficiaries could include the Piorun missile system, Krab howitzers, and Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that the final version of the regulation includes favorable terms for Poland, such as recognizing past purchases and enabling funding for products from third countries like the U.S. and South Korea.
