Largest oil source in Poland discovered in Baltic Sea near Świnoujście

Canadian company Central European Petroleum (CEP) has completed the first drilling at the Wolin East site in the Baltic Sea near Świnoujście, marking what is estimated to be the largest oil and gas discovery in Poland’s history. The deposit may contain 22 million tons of recoverable oil and condensate and 5 billion cubic meters of commercial gas, with total concession resources reaching 33 million tons of liquids and 27 billion cubic meters of gas. CEP confirmed a 62-meter hydrocarbon column and excellent reservoir properties.
If confirmed, Wolin East could significantly boost Poland’s energy security. CEP aims for rapid, responsible development in cooperation with Polish stakeholders. The project covers 593 km² under a license from the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
