Lasek: plot of land sold near CPK being investigated
A controversial land sale near the Central Communication Port (CPK) is under prosecutor investigation, Deputy Infrastructure Minister Maciej Lasek confirmed. The Dawtona company purchased a 160-hectare plot from the National Agricultural Support Center (KOWR), even though CPK had requested the land for its high-speed rail route. The sale was approved by the agriculture ministry shortly before the PiS government left power. Opposition politicians from Partia Razem announced they will notify the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA), alleging the land rapidly increased in value after the transaction, potentially harming public interests.
In response, PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński suspended MPs Robert Telus and Rafał Romanowski pending clarification. Authorities are investigating whether the sale violated public or strategic state interests.
