In Q1 2025, Poland’s LNG terminal in Świnoujście received a record 20 LNG shipments, up from 11 in Q1 2024 and 15 in 2023. The latest delivery by the Qatari tanker Al Ghashamiya helped set this new milestone. Around 80% of shipments came from the U.S., with Qatar supplying the rest—though Qatari deliveries carried more volume.

The terminal, a vital part of Poland’s energy infrastructure, now handles up to 8.3 billion m³ of gas annually—over 40% of national demand. Despite operational strain and safety concerns from high usage, the terminal’s efficiency reduces costs and tests its capacity. A second terminal (FSRU) in the Gulf of Gdańsk is expected to open in two years to ease pressure.
