Markets unmoved by reshuffle

Markets have largely shrugged off the latest cabinet reshuffle, says Michał Stajniak, Deputy Director of Research at XTB. He attributes a slight złoty decline to a stronger dollar and notes WSE gains stem from optimism over U.S. trade talks—not domestic politics.
Stajniak sees the restructuring, including the creation of a combined Ministry of Finance and Economy, as a move to address policy stagnation and fiscal reform. Housing both budget discipline and growth under one roof may ease tensions between conflicting goals, he says.
The superministry is also expected to offer clearer communication with investors. Its key challenge: reducing Poland’s budget deficit, currently exceeding 6%.
Stajniak adds that reviving the Ministry of Energy, dissolved in 2019, could support long-term energy transformation and attract foreign investment.
