mBank has increased its funding limit for sustainable energy to PLN 6.4 billion, aimed at supporting the construction of wind and photovoltaic farms. This expansion aligns with the bank's 2021-2025 strategy, which targets PLN 10 billion in support for sustainable investments, including energy transformation, circular economy, electromobility, ESG strategies, and client decarbonization. Since introducing its renewable energy financing policy in December 2018 with an initial PLN 500 million limit, mBank has consistently increased this limit.
In 2023, mBank financed over PLN 1.1 billion in renewable projects, with over PLN 500 million in the first half of 2024. Financing includes bilateral and syndicated loans, and green bonds, often in partnership with other banks and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
