ME: cybersecurity is important for every energy source in Poland
Poland’s energy deputy minister, Konrad Wojnarowski, said cybersecurity is essential to every energy source and to the country’s broader security, citing disinformation and threats from foreign services, including Russia. He called for investment in renewables and nuclear power, while maintaining dispatchable capacity and using gas as a transitional fuel. The government plans to invest PLN 200 billion in electricity grids by 2040, with additional support for energy storage and renewables.
Wojnarowski also said Poland is negotiating with the European Commission for immediate energy price relief and changes to the EU emissions trading system, including more free allowances and an “investment booster” to support industry and competitiveness.
