Medicalgorithmics and Lund University launch research collaboration for cardiac diagnostics
Medicalgorithmics, a Polish medtech company specializing in advanced cardiac analytics, has launched a major research collaboration with Lund University in Sweden. The goal is to create the world’s largest AI-based dataset on heart function and establish a new global standard for non-invasive cardiac diagnostics using its Virtual Cardiac Stress Testing platform (VCAST). The project will analyze data from SCAPIS, a large Swedish imaging study involving over 30,000 participants, to validate VCAST’s clinical value at the population level. VCAST uses AI and physiological modeling to simulate heart performance under stress, offering a non-invasive alternative to traditional stress tests.
The company sees this as a breakthrough that could accelerate personalized cardiology and support earlier detection of cardiovascular disease.
