Military in Poland developing command and cyber defense systems
Poland’s Armed Forces are developing AI systems to analyze intelligence data, support command, and strengthen cyber defense. The Artificial Intelligence Implementation Center, launched last year, has already completed five pilot projects, mainly in cybersecurity and battlefield awareness.
The center connects the military, academia, and industry to rapidly move from research to real-world deployment. AI tools integrate data from multiple sources, enabling faster and more effective decision-making. An internal AI incubator is also building solutions to increase technological autonomy.
The push comes as cyberattacks in Poland have risen about fivefold since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. AI is now used for 24/7 threat detection and mitigation.
Poland is also strengthening cooperation with NATO and the U.S., aiming to reduce reliance on external technologies and boost national security.
