Min of Def has $300 mln leasing contract for eight Apache helicopters

Poland has signed a $300 million lease agreement for eight AH-64D Apache attack helicopters to train personnel ahead of the delivery of 96 AH-64E Apaches ordered in 2024. The lease, signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, ensures pilot and ground crew training to prepare for the first Apache deliveries in 2028.
The leased AH-64D helicopters will be stationed with the 1st Army Aviation Brigade for intensive training. This temporary measure bridges the gap until the AH-64E fleet arrives between 2028-2032, under a $10 billion contract. Once fulfilled, Poland will become the world's second-largest Apache operator, enhancing its defense capabilities significantly.
