Min of Infrastructure cracking down on speeders

Poland’s Ministry of Infrastructure is preparing a reform of traffic violation penalties to boost the collection rate of fines from speed cameras and section controls, currently at 60%. The new rules will increase vehicle owners’ responsibility, requiring them to provide the full details of the driver at the time of the offense, along with a signed declaration from the indicated person.
Failing to identify the driver will result in double the fine, with a minimum of PLN 800, rising to PLN 2,000–4,000 for serious violations or crimes. Avoiding official mail will no longer help, and vehicles may be registered in a special database, risking registration suspension or impoundment. A 25% fine discount will be offered for payments within 14 days. The reform is planned for 2025.
