Ministry of National Defense: increasing avalanche of Cyberattacks against Poland
Poland remains on the digital frontline, facing a sharp rise in cyber threats. In 2025, the military cybersecurity team CSIRT MON handled 7,125 incidents, up nearly 70% y/y, driven by geopolitical tensions and Poland’s role as a NATO frontline state supporting Ukraine. Overall, national teams recorded over 273,000 incidents, a 144% increase y/y. The main threats included advanced persistent threat attacks, often state-backed, as well as cybercrime-as-a-service, hacktivism, insider threats, and hybrid cyber-electronic risks.
Most incidents involved data security breaches, malware, and intrusion attempts. Looking ahead, authorities expect growing use of AI in cyberattacks, including mass phishing campaigns, deepfakes impersonating officials, and disinformation operations.
