Mins of Defense in Poland Slovakia sign letter of intent regarding arms industry

On Monday, the defense ministers of Poland and Slovakia signed a letter of intent to strengthen cooperation in the defense industry. The agreement covers four key areas, including increasing ammunition production capacity, particularly for 155 mm caliber rounds.
Poland aims to sell Piorun anti-aircraft missile systems to Slovakia and collaborate on the joint production of an armored personnel carrier based on the Rosomak with a Slovak turret system. Additionally, Slovakia is interested in the Polish-modified K2 tank, which could boost Poland’s defense industry.
Both sides also discussed border security and territorial defense cooperation. Slovakia acknowledged Poland’s leadership in defense, emphasizing the importance of self-sufficiency in military production amid ongoing regional security threats.
