ML System to install PV roof tiles on historic building in Munich
Polish company ML System has been chosen to supply its PhotonRoof photovoltaic tiles for the renovation of the historic Alte Münze building in Munich, home to Bavaria’s Heritage Protection Office. The installation will cover 400 m² of roof surface, with 30 kWp capacity and annual output estimated at 32 MWh. Vice President Dawid Cycoń highlighted that the project demonstrates how solar technology can integrate seamlessly with historic architecture, combining energy efficiency with aesthetics.
ML System sees growing opportunities abroad, driven by EU building directives and the European Renovation Wave. In 2025, the company secured contracts across Europe and Indonesia totaling over 40,000 m², including 3,500 m² of PhotonRoof tiles.
