Motor insurance payouts surge in 2024
In the first half of 2024, insurers disbursed over PLN 9.4 billion for third-party liability and comprehensive motor insurance claims, marking a PLN 1.4 billion increase from the same period in 2023, according to the Insurance Guarantee Fund. Nearly 930,000 claims were reported, up by 70,000 from the previous year.
By June's end, there were 29.15 million active third-party liability policies and 7.56 million comprehensive insurance contracts, reflecting an AC/OC ratio of 25.9%. Fridays saw the most third-party liability claims, while Mondays led for comprehensive insurance, with weekends being the least accident-prone.
