WSE-listed producer and publisher of computer games, Movie Games, has signed an investment agreement with Robert Lewandowski. A well-known footballer will become a shareholder of a newly established company dealing in the production of sports games.
“A player of Bayern Munich and the captain of the Polish national team, he has been active in business for years, also in the new technologies sector. In a joint initiative with Movie Games, he will provide not only investment support, but also image and partly substantive support, providing the necessary knowledge to make sports games the way things are,” the company informed.
“All the most popular football games focus on these crucial 90 minutes, but we want to present the remaining 22 and a half hours of waiting for this event. Such games, loosely inspired by the form of popular documentary series about football teams and not only showing behind-the-scenes stories, have never been done by anyone, which puts us in a very privileged position. Recently, the series ‘The Last Dance’, which brought closer the success of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, enjoyed great popularity. In this series, the events on the dance floor were only the background of the whole story. We are convinced that, just like film productions on this subject, our games, as a new intermediary for conveying emotions, will interest a wide audience,” said Filip Szklarzewski, co-founder and president of the planned company, which will join the group of other entities from the Movie Games group by September.
“I try to be up to date with innovations, I am eager to use them every day. I have been observing the market related to modern technologies, including the computer games market, for a long time and I see great potential in this segment. Cooperation with Movie Games is also an opportunity to show football behind the scenes,” Robert Lewandowski added.
