The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy (MPiPS) has opened applications for a pilot programme testing reduced working hours. Employers – private and public – can apply from August 14 to September 15, 2025, with projects eligible for up to PLN 1 million in funding (capped at PLN 20,000 per employee).

The pilot consists of three phases: preparation (by December 31, 2025), implementation (January–December 2026), and evaluation (by May 15, 2027). Employers must commit to maintaining at least 90 percent of their workforce and wages. Results, including employer and employee surveys, will help assess the feasibility of flexible models, like a four-day week or shorter workdays, without reducing pay.
