NBP: Core inflation fell in August

In August 2025, core inflation in Poland excluding food and energy prices stood at 3.2% y/y, down slightly from 3.3% in July, according to the National Bank of Poland (NBP). Headline consumer inflation (CPI) for the month was 2.9%. Other measures of core inflation also eased: core inflation excluding administered prices fell to 2.5% from 2.7%, core inflation excluding the most volatile prices dropped to 3.8% from 3.9%, and the 15% trimmed mean decreased to 3.0% from 3.2%.
NBP highlighted that it publishes four core inflation indicators monthly to better understand price dynamics and underlying trends. The bank stressed that core inflation excluding food and energy is the most closely watched by analysts, as these categories are largely influenced by external factors.
