Members of the ruling majority have initiated proceedings to hold NBP President Adam Glapiński accountable before the State Tribunal, with the process expected to last up to a year. The motion, signed by 191 MPs, alleges eight violations, including indirect financing of the budget deficit, unauthorized currency interventions, and politicization. The procedure begins with a review by the Constitutional Accountability Committee, followed by Glapiński's written explanations within 30 days. The committee then investigates, potentially behind closed doors, before submitting a report to the Sejm, which decides on accountability. If passed, the resolution requires an absolute majority vote. The accusations range from financial misconduct to political interference, raising significant implications for the NBP's leadership and Poland's financial integrity.
