Nearly 22% of Poles struggled to pay bills on time
Some 21.7% of Polish adults struggled to meet financial obligations on time over the previous 12 months, according to a survey commissioned by debt management company Kruk. Among those affected, 67.6% described their difficulties as temporary, while 15.4% considered them serious. Overall, 46.7% rated their finances positively and 16.3% negatively. Nearly 47% cut discretionary spending to prioritize bills, loan payments, and housing costs, while 28% forgo treats to avoid debt. Some 71.8% at least occasionally reduce nonessential spending for financial reasons.
Despite these pressures, 96% reported following financial principles, including saving and budgeting. SW Research surveyed 1,022 adults from May 25–31, 2026.
