Construction has begun on a state-of-the-art building for the University of Warsaw, designed by BBGK Architekci, at Powiśle, Bednarska Street 2/4. The facility will house the Faculties of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, and Economic Sciences.
The "building of the future" has been planned as an adaptable structure to meet evolving needs and support different functions over time. The modern design includes lecture halls, research labs, TV and radio studios, and social spaces, all integrated into a sustainable and eco-friendly framework.
Key features include a central multi-level agora for academic community interaction and a green rooftop garden with scenic views of the Vistula River and its escarpment. The project, part of the university's significant investments, aligns with contemporary ecological standards, reducing its carbon footprint by 30 percent compared to conventional construction methods.
Completion is expected in late 2027.
