New railway regulations may slow down construction at Port of Poland
Construction experts warn that a new infrastructure ministry regulation may force costly redesigns of railway projects already well underway, disrupting schedules and adding uncertainty. One requirement calls for tunnel supports beneath buildings to be at least four meters from the centerline of main tracks. Rail expert Patryk Wild says this could affect the nearly finished tunnel and airport terminal plans for Port Polska, though the project company says it is assessing whether changes are needed and notes that some projects may qualify for transitional rules.
The concern extends beyond Port Polska: transitional provisions may not cover projects still being designed. Industry representatives are urging officials to clarify how the rules apply, who will pay for redesigns, and whether deadlines will change. They say exemptions should not replace clear transition rules.
