NFT digital art breaks records of popularity

In the first three quarters of this year, the value of global sales of NFTs, i.e. non-exchangeable tokens, reached the level of $3.5 billion, as follows from the report Hiscox Online Art Trade Report 2021. Trading in digital art with blockchain-based certificates is gaining popularity rapidly. DESA Unicum wants to use this potential. In December – as the first auction house in Poland and throughout Central and Eastern Europe – it will offer collectors a digital work of Paweł Kowalewski named "Why is there something rather than nothing" with tokens. Next year, auctions of virtual works of art are to become a cyclical event of the Polish auction house.
"NFT is only just being born on the world art market, but it takes it by storm. Everyone is closely watching which way it will develop, but also trying to experiment on it. This digitized art, which does not exist in offline reality and which exists only in a perfectly secured computer file, will in some way complement this standard, traditional art market," Juliusz Windorbski, president of DESA, noted.
