Number of applications for subsidies of EV growing, may deplete budget
Poland’s NaszEauto program for electric-vehicle subsidies has accelerated sharply, with monthly applications rising by over 200%. Nearly 60% of the program’s reduced budget – cut from PLN 1.6 billion to under PLN 1.2 billion – has already been used, raising concerns that funds may run out this winter. Since February 2025, more than 21,600 applications have been submitted, driven mainly by leasing and rental subsidies. EV registrations are also surging: in October, almost one in ten new cars was fully electric.
However, processing remains slow, with only 2,600 applications approved so far. Expanded eligibility rules and attractive EV offers continue to boost demand. Experts warn that the budget may be exhausted by early 2026 and recommend fiscal incentives to sustain EV adoption.
