The number of unemployed in Poland was 867,200 people at the end of December 2019, i.e. increased by 17,500 m/m, but remains over 100,000 less than a year ago, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy (MRPiPS) reported.

“We estimate that in the whole of 2019 the number of unemployed fell exactly by 10.5%. It's very good dynamics. Over the last 30 years, December 2019 was the first in which the number of the unemployed was lower than 900,000,” Marlena Maląg, the head of the department, said.
The lowest unemployment rate (at 2.8%) is maintained in the Wielkopolskie Voivodship, the highest in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodship (8.6%).
