Number of workplace accidents decreased last year: GIP

In 2022, as many as 1,920 workplace accidents were investigated, involving a total of 2,179 individuals affected; the previous year saw 2,104 accidents with 2,294 individuals impacted, according to the Chief Labour Inspectorate (Główny Inspektorat Pracy). The largest group of those affected comes from the construction and industrial processing sectors.

"For achieving sustainable improvement in the realm of universal compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, direct engagement of employers in the process of managing workplace safety and hygiene is particularly significant. The awareness that the area commonly referred to as OH&S is just as crucial an aspect of a company's functioning as financial liquidity, market expansion, and company growth," the State Labour Inspectorate, emphasized.
