Orange and APG fund buying fiber optic company Nexera for PLN 1.5 bln
Nexera, one of Poland’s largest wholesale fiber-optic network operators, is set to be acquired by Orange Polska and Dutch pension fund APG through their joint venture Światłowód Inwestycje. The transaction is valued at PLN 1.5 billion, most of which consists of Nexera’s existing debt. The deal, still subject to regulatory approval, reflects ongoing consolidation in Poland’s telecom market. Nexera operates an open-access wholesale network reaching around 800,000 households, largely in underserved areas, built with investments exceeding PLN 2 billion.
Following the acquisition, Nexera will be integrated into Światłowód Inwestycje, expanding the JV’s footprint to nearly 3 million households. Orange expects the deal to strengthen its fiber strategy, generate synergies, and have no material impact on its balance sheet or leverage.
