PKN Orlen's stocks on the Warsaw Stock Exchange experienced a sharp decline following news of the company incurring additional costs for further protective actions in the energy, gas, and heat markets. At the close of Wednesday's trading, Orlen's share price was PLN 59.60, down 7.9% from the previous day's session. The additional costs are related to measures to freeze energy, natural gas, and heat prices in 2024.

The entire operation will be financed at Orlen's expense, with the coalition proposing to impose additional charges on the company for the period from October 2021 to the end of 2022, estimated at PLN 14.6 billion for the year.
