Orlen VC has invested in Scottish startup ReVentas, which developed an innovative low-energy plastic recycling technology. The solution targets polyethylene and polypropylene—making up nearly half of the world’s plastic waste—and enables high-purity material recovery by removing contaminants like dyes and fillers. The process works at low temperatures and pressures, significantly reducing the carbon footprint and energy use.

This move supports Orlen’s climate neutrality and circular economy goals, while addressing EU 2030 regulations requiring 10% recycled material in packaging. The investment helps bridge the market gap in high-quality recycled plastics. ReVentas is also backed by Beiersdorf Venture Capital and Scottish Enterprise. Since launch, Orlen VC has invested PLN 250 million in 13 tech companies and two funds.
