PGE Announces Preliminary 2023 Financial Results

Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) revealed preliminary estimates for 2023, reporting a consolidated net loss of approximately PLN 5.012 billion attributable to shareholders, alongside a net profit of around PLN 2.035 billion adjusted for write-offs. The company's capital expenditure totaled PLN 10.088 billion.
The recurring consolidated operating result increased to approximately PLN 10.722 billion, influenced by various segments including Conventional Generation, District Heating, and Renewable Energy. However, factors like provisions related to electricity tariffs and reductions in consolidated revenues affected the overall financial outcome.
Additionally, impairment tests led to write-offs of fixed assets in the Conventional Energy segment, totaling approximately PLN 8.4 billion gross. Despite these challenges, PGE remains a significant player in Poland's energy sector, with plans to publish the consolidated report on March 19, 2024.
